Beetroot is so versatile and tasty, it can be used in both savoury or sweet dishes, used as a main or a side dish, eaten raw, roasted, pickled, juiced or grated. But however it is consumed, it is always delicious.
Beetroot‘s main benefit is that it contains no fat, very few calories and is a great source of fibre. It‘s even known for its health benefits in treating cancer. They are easy to grow, easy to sow and best of all easy to cook.
You can eat the entire thing (although I like to remove the skin) including the stalk and leaves.
