Learning to read is a basic human right. You can help us, help disadvantaged kids learn to read and write, simply by donating your pre loved books throughout September at the Mulgrave Farmers & Makers market.
We will then sort them and make them available to you purchase at the Biggest Book Fair on Sunday 23rd September.
Enjoy the opportunity to pick up some great books, and help raise valuable funds for the ALNF, to help teach disadvantaged children learn how to read and write and enjoy reading too.
The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) is dedicated to raising language, literacy and numeracy standards in Australia and raises funds to develop, implement and sustain innovative projects for individuals, families and communities.
ALNF teaches disadvantaged Australians - including those in refugee and Indigenous communities - how to read and write. ALNF also helps to develop the skills of teachers, carers, healthcare workers, community workers and volunteers to pass on good literacy practices to their families and communities.
ALNF‘s programs are tailored to the needs of individuals, groups and communities, and are incredibly effective in delivering tangible outcomes and creating a real impact.
It can be done! Marginalised children can be taught to read. And you can help.
